Happy Sunday to everyone and we here at AMGR are continuing our week of highlighting the spice turmeric and all the benefits this spice has to offer. Today we are sharing how you can simply add turmeric in with your skincare and beauty to reap some of the great benefits. We have a quick and easy DIY that brightens, exfoliates, smooths and leaves the skin radiant and it smells amazing and what are we making? It’s a Turmeric and Rose DIY Sugar Body Scrub.
What you’ll need
1/4 of a cup of raw cane sugar
1 Tablespoon of dried rose petals
1/2 Teaspoon of organic ground turmeric powder
3 Tablespoons of Unrefined Coconut oil
1 Jar for storage
Utensil for combining ingredients
1 Mixing bowl
Step 1
Add 1/4 of a cup of raw cane sugar into your mixing bowl.
Step 2
Add 1/2 teaspoon of organic ground turmeric powder in with the raw cane sugar.
Step 3
Now make sure that both the raw cane sugar and turmeric are mixed together well before moving onto step 4.
Step 4
Add one tablespoon of dried rose petals that have been crushed either by hand, with a mortar or with a food processor in with your turmeric and sugar mixture.
Step 5
And now make sure your crushed rose petals are evenly mixed in with the other ingredients.
Step 6
Now it’s time to add the coconut oil and you can play around a bit with the mixture to get the texture you want by adding as little or as much coconut oil you would like. For our recipe we started with five tablespoons of coconut oil and adjusted from there until we ended up with a more of a fluffier consistency.
Step 7
Enjoy!
Tips and tricks
-
You can use Fractionated coconut oil or the solid form to make this scrub.
-
Try adding your favorite essential oil for some added fragrance.
-
You can omit the rose petals, it’s completely optional.
-
Turmeric can stain your clothes and linens so keep that in mind when using this scrub and make sure to thoroughly rinse it off.
