Maple Apple Tart | A Modern Girl Recommends

Hello and happy weekend to everyone and to kick things off I will be sharing a quick and easy recipe for my Maple Apple Tart that’s perfect to whip up and bring along to any gathering or to simply enjoy as an after dinner sweet treat that I’m sure many will enjoy and if this a recipe that piques your interest do stick around and let’s get started.

What you’ll need

4 -5 apples

Lemon juice

Butter

Maple Syrup

Cinnamon

Nutmeg

Ground cloves

Brown sugar

Flour

Salt

Sugar

Bowl

Rolling pin

Tart pan or glass

mixing utensils

Ice water

Step 1

First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees and then you can get started by peeling, coring and slicing your apples into smaller slices for this recipe I used Jazz apples, however you can use whatever type of apples you like.

Step 2

In a bowl, add your sliced apples, one tablespoon of maple syrup, one tablespoon of cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon of ground cloves, a teaspoon nutmeg, two tablespoons of butter that has been cut into smaller cubes, one tablespoon of lemon juice and half of a cup brown sugar give it a stir and set your spiced apple mixture aside and move on to step 3.

Step 3

Now we will make our tart pie crust and you can make your own or go the route of store-bought pie crust either way will work out just fine. To make the pie crust, add one cup of flour, a pinch of salt, two tablespoons of sugar, 8 tablespoons of butter and combine all of the ingredients together and while combining add 4 tablespoons of ice cold water one tablespoon in at a time once your crust is ready, add some flour to a baking board and transfer your dough over to the board and with a rolling pin, roll out your pie crust until it matches the size of your tart pan, then transfer it into your tart pan that has been buttered to prevent your tart from sticking.

Step 4

Now take the spiced apple mixture and arrange the apples in the tart in a circular pattern until the entire tart is filled and then transfer to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the tart becomes golden brown around the edges.

Step 5

Remove your tart from the oven and allow the tart to fully cool and then serve.
