Welcome to today’s edition here on A Modern Girl Recommends and for today I will be sharing with you all a recipe that’s not only simple to make, but requires just a little of your time and is one that you can customize and put your spin on it, but what might this recipe be it’s Portobello Mushroom Pizzas that might just have you skipping your traditional pizza addiction and sparking up a new one.
What you’ll need
3 Portobello Mushrooms
3 Cloves of garlic
Fresh Basil
Bell pepper
Red Onion
Jalapeno Pepper
Dried Oregano
Chili Powder
Sea Salt
Ground Black Pepper
Olive oil
Pizza sauce
Italian Blend Cheese
Salami (Optional)
Step 1
Marinate your Portobello mushrooms for ten minutes in a mixture of a 1/2 of a cup of olive oil, 3 cloves of minced garlic, 1/2 of a teaspoon of dried oregano, 1/2 of a teaspoon of chili powder, 1/2 of a cup of fresh basil that has been roughly chopped and a pinch of sea salt.
Step 2
Remove your mushrooms from the marinade and cover each one with two tablespoons of pizza sauce and evenly spread if you feel like your mushrooms need a little more sauce add accordingly.
Step 3
Cover each Portobello Mushroom with shredded Italian blend cheese, which consist of Mozzarella, Cheddar, Smoked Provolone, and Asiago cheese and cover over the pizza sauce.
Step 4
Add your toppings which can be whatever ones you fancy in my recipe I used chopped jalapenos, green bell peppers, red onion, basil as well as Italian salami after piling on the toppings transfer your mushrooms onto a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes until cheese is fully melted.
Step 5
Let your Portobello Mushroom Pizzas cool for 8-10 minutes, then add freshly ground black pepper and then serve.
