Welcome to this Wednesday’s edition here on A Modern Girl Recommends and I hope that you guys are having an amazing day and for today I will be sharing with you all how to make a personalized banner, but this is one that requires no sewing at all and here’s how it’s done.
What You Will Need
Canvas Material
Glue Gun
Glue Gun Sticks
Felt Letters
Twine
Wooden Dowel that has been cut to 17 1/4”
Scissors
Step 1
Measure and cut your canvas to 28 inches in length by 26 inches in width.
Step 2
Fold 1 inch of your canvas at the edge and then hot glue to secure from top to bottom.
Step 3
Fold the canvas in half to close and then hot glue to seal from the top to the bottom and then fold in the bottom edges to make a triangle shape and glue to seal.
Step 4
To measure your fold for the dowel position your dowel a 1/2 of an inch from the top and then fold the canvas over and mark, pin or write down the measurements so you will know where to seal your closure in step 6.
Step 5
Hot glue the top layer of your canvas to close and then fold over a half of an inch and then glue again.
Step 6
Fold the canvas over your dowel and seal with hot glue until fully secured.
Step 7
Now take your twine and start from the right side of the dowel close to the canvas and with your hot glue gun make one straight line down and wrap the twine around the dowel and with each wrap secure with hot glue once done on the right side extend your twine out and start on the left side of the dowel repeating the same steps.

Hello, Bonjour hello in french, Hola hello in Spanish, Ciao hello in Italian, Osiyo hello in Cherokee and Habari hello/ good morning in Sawhili
Step 8
Now to the fun stuff you are going to arrange your self adhesive felt letters and spell out your message, whether it’s a family saying, your special saying, words of inspiration to get you moving or like I made my DIY Banner to greet guests at my home with some of my favorite languages and the languages I have a connection to. Once you have chosen your message remove letters from backing to attach and they are pretty secure the letters, however, to add that extra security I have chosen to hot glue my letters.
Step 9
It’s time to hang your creation and enjoy.
