Welcome back, readers I had recently gone on a retail excursion and not only did I picked up a few must have beauty essentials, but I also picked up a some beauty curiosities, so let’s have a look at what I purchased on my latest shopping adventure.
My shopping trip to Urban Outfitters was definitely a planned one, I had been on the hunt for the Lucas PawPaw Original balm and I just could not find it here in the states, and if I did find a site that sold it, it was sold out. I then discovered that Urban Outfitters carries an Ultimate Dr. Paw Paw tinted version online, and at this point I thought that these would suffice. For those that might be saying what’s Dr. PawPaw, it’s an all-purpose balm that can be used on burns, dry lips, dry patches, stings, diaper/nappy rash and for whatever skin concerns that ails one within reason. The original PawPaw Ointment is by Lucas and is sold mainly in Australia, but the one I purchased is by Dr. PawPaw and is from the Uk. The Dr. PawPaw contain Fermented Papaya similar to the Lucas PawPaw, and is ultra hydrating. It instantly soothes and softens dry and cracked lips. I really like these versions, because of that added extra of it being tinted. The tint is not a deep tint, but rather a wash of color that can be buildable.Dr. PawPaw | Tinted Ultimate Red Balm
Cost | $8.00
The Dr. Paw Paw Tinted Ultimate Red Balm is a true cherry, cranberry color, that is perfect for getting the job of adding a nice wash of color and hydrating one’s lips done effortlessly and easily. The consistency is that of a balm, it’s not oily, but like a light Vaseline.Dr. PawPaw | Tinted Peach Pink Balm
Cost | $8.00
Dr. Paw Paw’s Tinted Peach Pink Balm is definitely more pigmented than the red balm, however just as equally hydrating. This version has more of a lipstick with a slight lip gloss feel.
Okay, I was finally forced by Birchbox to use my points that I have been hoarding for a while, and these are the items that I had redeemed my points for. Some of the items are continued beauty faves, and some are items that I had been interested in trying and here they are.
Cost | $25.00
The first item is by the ever so popular brand Sigma and this is their Brush Cleaning Mat. This is the perfect little gadget to have handy in one’s brush cleaning world, due to the fact that it eliminates the need for the usual cleaning of one’s brushes in a bowl, because you’re now cleaning your brushes right in your sink basin. All you have to do is simply pour your brush shampoo onto the mat and add water, and choose the section that best fits with your brush shape or size and wash away. I must say it’s a little therapeutic, easy and somewhat fun, so if you are looking for an easy, quick and more thorough way of getting your brushes clean faster I highly recommend this little gem.TonyMoly | Panda’s Dream So Cool Eye Stick
Cost | $12.00
The next product was one that I was most interested in trying and it’s the TonyMoly Panda’s Dream So Cool Eye Stick. This little soothing eye wonder is supposed to help de-puff stress eyes, and revives tired eyes all due to its refreshing cooling effect. So this is definitely going to come in handy for long flights and even longer nights.Benefit Cosmetics | Dandelion Dew Soft Baby – Pink Radiance For Cheeks
Cost | $28.00
The next item is one that I’m excited about trying because I adore the brand and their line blushes, so it was a given that a blush from Benefit Cosmetics would end up in my virtual Birchbox shopping cart and this was the lucky puppy that got to come home with me the Dandelion Dew Soft Liquid Blush in Pink Radiance. I love the idea of a liquid blush in a pump form, it makes it a lot easier and the concentration is greater. The color Pink Radiance is a romantic, subtle shimmering blush perfect for those times when you want to shine, but still keep things natural.
Cost | $23.00
Okay, here I go again, I had to pick up another blush and I could not help it, because this one had adorable packaging and the color is gorgeous and I am talking about the Korean Beauty line Too Cool For School Dinoplatz Cushy Blush in the subtle, but still very electrifying color Lava Martini, which is also known as #3. The color is a buildable rosy hot pink, and all of the Too Cool For School Dinoplatz Cushy Blushes comes with two cushion caps, that can be removed allowing one to apply the blush with another brush or BeautyBlender. Tocca | Eau de Parfum Travel Trio
Cost | $20.00
I have been hooked on the perfume Florence by Tocca ever since it was included in my Play! By Sephora Bag and I wanted to get a travel size for of course, traveling, so I picked up this one and it came with two others in the set, which are Emelia and Bianca. These bottles are not tiny, but the perfect size to last a good long while and perfect for hand bags and to tuck away in your gym bag. Emelia contains fragrance notes of Clementine, Fig, Magnolia and Geranium. Florence’s fragrance notes include Italian Bergamot, Green Pear, Ivory Gardenia and Blonde Woods. Bianca’s notes are Rose, Sugar, Lemon and Green.Birchbox | Mystery Sample Pack
Cost | $0.00
The Mystery Sample Pack is free for orders over $35.00. The samples that I received in my pack are the Kerastase Nutritive Nectar Thermique treatment and the Malin + Goetz Grapefruit Face Cleanser.
Cost | $15.00 – $38.00
I had used this cleanser when I was fifteen-years-old and I hated it, it just did not work with my skin chemistry at that time in my life and I quickly stopped using it, however, I had received it as a birthday gift from Sephora and I wanted to give it a whirl and I am so glad that I did, because my skin is loving it. I love that Fresh’s Soy Face Cleanser does not strip my skin and it melts a good portion of my makeup away instantly. I also like that it is non irritating to my skin or my eyes this is one cleanser that if you happen to accidentally open your eyes you won’t start yelling ”Oh My God It Burns!”. The scent is very fresh and smells just like real cucumbers. Think as if you have just cut cucumbers the fragrance is that vivid of fresh sliced cucumbers.
Cost | $37.00
The next product is one that I wanted to try for a while however, I did not think it was maybe worth the price at the time, but I had decided to give it a try and it’s the YSL Rouge Volupte Sheer Candy in the color Succulent pomegranate. The color is a bright, glossy cherry, cranberry pomegranate red infusion and it smells divine similar to fresh cherries and grapefruit and I must say that I am really happy that I purchase this item. It’s very hydrating the color is nice, not too intense definitely perfect for when you want to keep it simple, but still make a nice impact.MAC | ‘Tendertalk’ Lip Balm in Play With Me
Cost | $20.00
MAC’s ” Tendertalk Lip Balm in the color Play With Me was another makeup item that I wanted to try so it was a must add item to my virtual shopping cart at Nordstrom. MAC’s Tendertalk is one of those color lip balms that reacts to everyone’s skin chemistry a little different. It’s formulated to create the best color for your skin chemistry, so it will look different on everyone. Play With Me gives the wearer the perfect hot pinkish red and I love it. I am drawn to a lot of products like these I always like seeing the different shades on everyone and how they differ. They say the Tendertalk Lip Balms are supposed to have a vanilla scent, I did not notice a vanilla fragrance it just smells like the original MAC Lipstick formula which I happen to like.
Cost | $13.99
I recently discovered this book through Instagram and it looks like an interesting read, so I picked up a copy from Amazon.com, it’s a futuristic novel based around you guessed it a thousand floor high-rise apartment that features some scandal a little crime and a lot of glamour definitely worth my time.
