Today one of my favorite beauty sample subscription boxes arrived in my mailbox, and as usual I am intrigued to discover what BirchBox has curated for the month. For those who might not be in the know about BirchBox, and their subscription program here is a real quick intro. BirchBox, releases each month in my opinion amazing deluxe size samples for their subscribers boxes. BirchBox sends four to five samples monthly to their subscribers, and what is the icing on the cake, the cherry on top, the cream of the crop and the absolute gem about BirchBox, is for every sample you receive you have the opportunity to give your feedback, and receive ten points for each sample you reviewed. When you reach one hundred points, you have earned yourself $10.00 in BirchBox Shop dollars to spend on whatever you want, and if you want to wait and let your points rack up to make a big-ticket purchase you can. BirchBox points are good for only one year and after that they disappear, so don’t forget about them and be left thinking about all the great products you could have gotten only if you remembered to use your points. So, being a subscriber to BirchBox is a win, win in my opinion, because you pay $10.00 a month and receive deluxe size samples from brands one knows. And, as a subscribers you get points that turn into BirchBox store dollars to buy even more coveted or treasured long time favorites. Anyways moving forward onto my BirchBox February 2015 Box Reveal, let’s get to unboxing. For the month of February I opted -out of the handpicked regular monthly BirchBox, and choose the BirchBox Rent The Runway Collaboration box, and I will just start off now and say it was a hit I absolutely loved it!
The BirchBox theme for February is It’s All In The Details, and the products that were featured in the BirchBox + Rent the Runway collaboration box were not only great, they were also chic and notable brands, however BirchBox did not stop there, the theme card for the month was equally fashionably design, very chic and definitely fashion week inspired.
Product 1 Fekkai Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo*
Full size $18.95
The Fekkai Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo, is definitely keeping with the theme of the February 2015 BirchBox, and their runway theme with this notable brand that many know of, have tried or knows someone who uses this brand. I love Fekkai’s products they are extremely effective, and what I like about this hair care gem is unlike some competing dry shampoo’s this one is a transparent spray. I dislike how some dry shampoo leaves us brunettes and darker hair individuals looking as though the Abominable Snowman has been playing in our hair. I love that this dry shampoo works to quickly absorb oil all the while helping to revive ones hair, and at the same time leaves behind a lovely scent.
Full size $16.00
The Not Soap, Radio Body Wash in the fragrance The Stuff that Cupid dips his arrows in, was one of the samples from the BirchBox February 2015 Box Reveal, that I was most interested in trying and so far I am liking it. The scent is stated by Not Soap, Radio company to be a mixture of Blackberries and vanilla scent. The scent to me is subtle, and has a dominate fresh soap scent. I can smell more of the blackberries then the vanilla, however this soap lathers extremely well and doubles as a bubble bath.
Full size $15.00
The Balm Cosmetics, is a familiar brand featured in BirchBox Subscribers boxes and I am a huge fan of this brand. I love how well their products are made in my opinion, and how beautifully package they are. And, this lip gloss was another product from my BirchBox February 2015 Box Reveal that I was interested in trying. I love the color Bam, it is a nice soft blush rose color that is extremely pigmented. This lip balm has a little extra added benefit and that is it is formulated with antioxidants rich ginseng, and has a nice shine.
Product 4 Sumita Color Contrast Eyeliner
Full size $11-$21.00
And, as usual and definitely welcome by me is a beautiful eyeliner that is not only great in color, but the staying power is phenomenal. Sumita is another familiar brand that I have received in my previous BirchBoxes, and I love this brand. The quality is beautiful, because it goes on smooth without tugging on my eyelids and stays put. This is a rich navy blue eyeliner.
Full size $10.70
And, the last product featured in my BirchBox February 2015 Box Reveal, is the Derma e Anti- Wrinkle Vitamin A Glycolic Scrub. I have received other products from the brand Derma e in previous Birchboxes, and they have all been amazing and this Anti-wrinkle Vitamin A Glycolic scrub by Derma e is equally great in my opinion. It made my skin feel very refreshed. Derma e Anti- Wrinkle Vitamin A Glycolic Scrub, is stated by the company Derma e to be an all-natural cleanser, and its main and only job is that this cleanser acts as an exfoliator to help remove dead skin, also helps with dark spots as well as with cleaning pores. The consistency of this scrub/cleanser is rough I would compare it to the St Ives Apricot Scrub, for me personally I like that this is a mild abrasive scrub, because it has definitely given my skin that deep and thorough exfoliation needed in the winter months.
And, that was my BirchBox February 2015 Box Reveal of the BirchBox and Rent the Runway collaboration. I absolutely loved the variety of products featured in my box, and they were all amazing I definitely stumble upon some favorites from the February box. One being the Fekkai Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo it was perfect in every way for me.
